The Walk of Freedom

A confident, celebrative blessing for individuals or the whole congregation. Heaven and earth ask for the grace to walk in freedom, hear the cry for justice, and dance the dance of living in love. Three joyful verses. SMATB

Lyric Outtake

May you walk the walk of freedom,
and hear the cry for justice,
May you bless the name of God all your days.
And be the joyful presence
   of heaven on earth,
As you dance the dance--
   of living in Love.

Quotes to Consider

"The clarity with which we see other people's needs and respond to them is in direct proportion to our interior freedom" (Keating, 25).

"If we learn to accept our imperfection with humor, as the reflection of our very humanity, we will experience humility and tolerance, we will understand that we are already filled with forgiveness, we will see the gift of our lives, the chains will fall away, and we will be free--not so much from fear or 'dependence,' but free for life itself" (Kurtz, 243).

"The greatest obstacle to personal freedom is fear… It is intrusive and pervasive; it controls both personal behavior and communal activity" (Houdek, 63).

"When a person has been sufficiently freed from anxieties, angers, and other fixations to be able to care about the Lord’s love for his people, he will be seen as inviting him to share in his mission, to care for his people, to go the journey…" (Barry, 62).

Scriptures for Meditation

2 Cor 3: 17-18 Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
1 Pet 2: 19-22 People are slaves to whatever masters them
Isa 61 Proclaiming good news to captives, the oppressed, and the
brokenhearted (Lk 4: 18-24 Jesus fulfils the prophecy)
Jn 8: 31-37 You will know the truth and the truth will make you free
Gal 5: 1, 2, 13, 15 Christ set us free. Use that freedom well
